[ First things first, Greg Lestrade comes to in the usual way of most newly returned canon update recipients- distinctly lacking in some hope and immediately taking more concern with getting his clothes on. A task well-accomplished, thank you very much, because he seems to have good luck in finding those neatly folded near his area of entrance. From that, for the most part, to hell with everything, he wants to flip tables. Not that he... does this. It's just a very tempting idea, little bit of a rampage or something. Maybe another time. So then, journal first, town second. ]
Well, I've been off home and back in, looks like. If anybody noticed I was out to start with. Would've expected a holiday from this place to be a bit more relieving, but I suppose that's just what I get for making assumptions. [ His tone is decidedly less casual than it usually is- more just tired than honestly annoyed- but Lestrade doesn't bother elaborating. Not the sort of business you start going on about. There's a pause, and he's almost hesitant when he picks back up. ]
Everybody who's in from my London still present and accounted for? You know who you are, and if you're here you're someone I'll have to talk to this week, so you might as well put in. [ And another short pause because he's just going on at this point, isn't he. Well WHATEVER. ] Just give a shout, save me the trouble of tracking you down. [ For once. 8||| ]
[ And with that, he closes the journal for the time being; not quite before it manages to pick up a faint "Christ, I need a smoke."
Which, you know, he'll be going out to accomplish. Very important item on his list right there. Smokes, food, a drink, more clothes. Furniture... eh. Flat's still got something in it, likely as not, that should be fine for him. He does the town the courtesy of doing his smoking on a bench in the square as opposed to in a building. Not that Luceti's much for "don't smoke indoors", really, but still. ]

you don't even know how far it reaches
it's like an epidemic for some people]
Oh, yes! Sanji, the chef - I work for him in the afternoons and mornings... He really does smoke far too much for someone his age, I think. [She waves her hand; what can ya' do.] If you'd like, you can have one of the fresh boxed lunches I was taking home. Sometimes I just prepare a few meals in the kitchen, since everything's right there.
[Also your hair is very interesting and gray. She actually doesn't see that very often. Surrounded by the youngin's. :|a]
[action]
It wouldn't be putting you out? [ Because that is a high concern with you kind folks in this town. Alas, that Luceti is in a sad lack of silver foxes. ]
[action]
[hopefully he didn't think he was giving it to just sayo
because she just randomly passed if off to some dude
OH WELL]
[action]
And he even doesn't talk with his mouth full. ]
Have you been stuck here long, then?
[action]
Actually, I'm not sure how long... I suppose there's a way of figuring out. I'm not sure.
[action]
which obviously makes sense to read. ] Guess it would all run together after a while.[action]
Well, something like that! I think I just forget so many things, it all just... gets confusing after a while. [a low sigh] I made a huge fuss about coughing the other day - I guess it's very common to cough... so I must've forgotten those...
[congratulations you met a weird anomaly]
[action]
You... forget a lot of things, do you?
[ Highly curious. A little bit incredulous. Damn he's got a knack for meeting weird anomalies. It's almost like Sherlock and all his 'deleting'. Solar systems and first names, lost to the void. Only without the arrogant genius bit behind it all. ]
[action]
I suppose you've been here long enough to know there are... interesting things in other worlds, right? That's the case with me. Some of my memories are eaten from day to day.
[action] gurl that mushi is rude
What, this 'interesting thing' has nothing better to do than go around cocking things up for you?
[action] rude as fuck, dawg
HUH ANYWAY]
Something like that. More like... its just how it lives. It's a creature from my world that moves into people's heads while they're sleeping and stays there. I suppose the only way it can survive is by using memories as some sort of food...
It's a little confusing, but... [she shrugs; this is so awkward to talk about sometimes] Well, it's what it is, I suppose! It's certainly something people are surprised to hear, when I tell them about it.
[action]
[ Lestrade reminds himself that conversations are not always lines of questioning, 2012. He imagines Sayo would have an extremely nice way of saying "piss off" anyway. ]
[action]
[A-ahahaha 3:^D]
[action]
It's harder finding something you can't really believe here than anything after a while. [ Which is to say, magic memory-sucking. Believable enough, considering he has wings. Not completely discounting some kind of brain damaging incident nobody could identify. ]
[action]
Though I do distinctly remember turning into a child once. And then a crawling little creature another time--it's a good thing my boss didn't try to cook me up for customers.

[action]
[HUFF PUFF rude mushi]
I suppose Luceti has three inconveniences for every one convenience!
[action]
That's probably the most accurate way I've heard it put yet. [ It's all really a shame though. He couldn't imagine turning around every once in a while forgetting why he can't sleep on his back. ] Hope you found quick help those days.

Or how some people can make things like fire and water and things like that appear out of nowhere! I've heard there are a lot of spirits to help with that, but I've only met one personally.
[action]
I can't say I've gotten around to meeting any of them yet. Just heard the usual there is to hear on the journals. [ And possibly nearly gotten himself roasted with one's help after Sanji's alternate universe trip, whoops. ]

[chew chew chew, gulp, sigh]
I just wish I could help more!
